Second workshop on energy efficiency held

The second workshop in the series brought together representatives of municipalities, state institutions, inspectorates, the pharmaceutical and food industries and chambers of commerce.

National overview of refrigerants

Check what is in your equipment — and what it may be replaced with.

If you operate refrigeration or air-conditioning equipment, some of the refrigerants in it are already banned from import and others fall under a shrinking annual quota. Here you can see what replaces what, what the law requires, and who to turn to.

Banned or restricted → Approved GWP · AR4
Current refrigerant
HFC blend · GWP 2,088
Under annual quota
blend: R-32 / R-125 · boiling -51.4 °C

Operates at roughly 60% higher pressure than R-22 and therefore requires equipment designed for it. Dominant in split air conditioning from the 2000s onwards.

Split and multi-split air conditioning.

Approved substitutes (3)
  • R-32 A2L GWP lower by 68%
    difluoromethane · GWP 675
Split air conditioners and heat pumps
    Manual §2.5.2
  • R-454B A2L GWP lower by 78%
    low-GWP blend · GWP 466
    Split and multi air conditioning
    Manual §2.5.2
  • R-452B A2L GWP lower by 67%
    low-GWP blend · GWP 698
    Unitary systems
    Manual §2.5.2

Replacement must be carried out by a certified technician. Class A2L and A3 refrigerants are flammable and require specific installation conditions.
